Victor E. Pricolo, MD, PhD. (a.k.a. Jack Spears) was born and raised in Italy and graduated from Medical School at the University of Milan. He completed his surgical education in the USA at Brown University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Mayo Clinic. 
 

A full Professor of Surgery at Brown Medical School by age forty-one, Dr. Pricolo served as Chief of Colorectal Surgery and was Director of Medical Education at Rhode Island Hospital until 2102, when he accepted the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Southcoast Health. 
 

He is currently a Clinical Professor of Medical Sciences at Brown University Medical School.
 

He continues to produce innovative research work, having authored over 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications, focusing on areas such as gastrointestinal disorders, cancer, patient’s quality of life, and the crucial importance of doctor-patient interactions. 
 

His books—both reality and fiction—are enriched by real-life experience and factual historical references, with a dose of irony and humor. His narrative seeks to dive into the depth and complexities of human emotions in their relentless quest for survival and success.
